Marion Smith RSA
Sculptor Marion Smith was born in Fife and studied sculpture at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen graduating in 1991. Following graduation she worked at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop, Aberdeenshire where she created her first public commissions in 1994.
Marion was elected an Associate of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1998 and became an Academician in 2005. She has exhibited in Scandinavia and Japan and has had solo shows across Scotland. Marion has work permanently sited in the UK from Shetland to Southampton, her first granite commission created in 2002 is sited in Brittany. Recently she has focused solely on realising a number of major public commissions in a variety of materials.
